Happiness others wish they had

Kaylee the flower girl, now that has a ring to it. The day was like any other, except Kaylee was given a task to accomplish. Some may find this to be menial, but to her the flower girl is a job that she is proud and excited to do. Words were not shared to explain her happiness, she did not need words. All you needed to see the fire of excitement in her eyes was to look upon her for a second. Her face shined like the moon in the midnight sky, her radiance left others in awe. "Get excited and enthusiastic about you own dream. This excitement is like a forest fire- you can smell it, taste it, and see it from a mile away." (Denis Waitley quote.) I feel as though this helps explain that anybody could see her excitement. As I watched her, the face that I have become so accustomed to, changed. This change was that of happiness that others have waged war for, or spent every waking moment trying to find. In this one moment this little girl lived her life for the first time.

Emotional Turmoil

When this observation started I thought I knew my niece by the back of my hand. I have been watching her slowly grow, and through this I have seen a change in her emotions. This change is that her emotions seem confused and disorganized. As I look through my field notes I can see a  oddity that has become frequent.

Now the oddity that has appeared is that Kaylee can't control her emotions. Now what I mean by she can't control her emotions is that she let's her emotions control her. She gets emotional really quick, even quicker than a jealous girlfriend. When the observation is going on I see that if she is interrupted she get really mad. Now this also applies to her over abundance of happiness, it emanates from her and she won't even know why she is so happy.

Now another thing that I have noticed is that her emotions are constantly changing. The emotion that she chooses next doesn't exactly match the situation. She will go from being happy to sad even though nothing happened. I have come to the conclusion that I need keep observing and watching her emotional growth, and see if she can control her emotions.

Hereditary Traits

Parents pass many things to their children, all sorts traits. Kaylee has many of her mother and fathers traits. The trait that stands out the most is her stubborn, stubborn attitude. Her attitude rivals that of politicians, her mom is worse. I see that she is definitely getting the trait that me and my sister share, and that is our kind attitude toward bad people. Kaylee was approached by a rotten kid and she just killed that kid with kindness. Everyday she amazes me even more  on how much she is her mom. Every aspect of her mom and dad's personality are crammed into one ball of experimental cuteness. Now her parents have opposite personalities, and that is what makes her the experiment. She has gotten her anger outburst from her dad, it is not that bad in fact it gives her the finishing touch. Now she may have had opposite parents, but what she is made of is all of the best aspects from both of them.

When did learning not become fun?

The human mind is always growing and expanding. This process is best put to use when we are in school. Kaylee has helped me see that when we are young we absorb all this information, then want to share it with the world. Everyday Kaylee learns something she immediately comes to me and says. "Guess what I learned today?" Then she tells me everything, she has learned so much for being just a kindergartener. She does occasionally complain about homework though, but with commitment she always works on it. She absorbs all this knowledge, and expresses with such excitement that makes me jealous. I still wish that after I learn something new that I would have the same excitement, not a sense of dread. Will she lose her sense of wonder, or will she always be the same little girl that gets excited by learning how to spell the word "the"? After watching her I see that we won't have to worry about the later generations, in fact I am impressed with what I have seen so far. I know that she will make me proud, she is a magnificent person.
